CROP Walk October 8, 2017
The Champaign-Urbana CROP Walk has been moved to the fall this year. The walk will take place on Sunday, October 8, 2017. It will start at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Urbana. The CROP Walk is a 10 km (6 mile) walk to raise money to help end Hunger. It is organized by Church World Services (CWS), and funds their many projects around the world. This year’s CROP Walk is focused on improving sanitation and hygiene in Vietnam, which is a major cause of hunger in that area. Other CWS projects include providing chickens and chicken rearing training to families in Myanmar (Burma).
How Can I Help?
We are looking for volunteers of all ages to walk with Grace Lutheran in the CROP Walk. Please pick up a donation envelope at the table in the Narthex before October 8, 2017. Then collect donations for your walk to support CWS. You can easily set up a web page with CROP Walk to collect donations on-line.
If you are not able to do the 6 mile walk, please give your support to one of the other Grace Lutheran walkers, either in person or on-line.
