Schnucks in Savoy for the month of August and Champaign for the month of September selected Grace’s Food Pantry as the recipient of the Schnucks Bags 4 My Cause program. For every purchase of the $2.99 white with red lettering “Hunger” bag, Schnucks will donate $1 to Grace’s Food Pantry.
Choir rehearsals will resume again on August 16 at 7:30 p.m. The choir will begin singing during Sunday worship on August 20. New members are welcome to join; please contact Jon Arnold at music@glccu.org to touch base.
Grace Lutheran Church welcomes Jon Arnold as our new Director of Music. Jon is a native of Atlanta, who will be starting the Doctorate of Musical Arts in choral conducting at Illinois this fall. He holds the Bachelor of Arts in voice and the Master of Music in choral conducting from Emory University. In Georgia, Jon had a diverse career including two community choirs and full-time music ministry at Cross of Life Lutheran Church in Roswell, where he conducted the chancel choir and handbells and led the contemporary band. His wife, Megan, is a coloratura soprano working in New York City. Jon will be leading the choir and bell choir at Grace. Jon is excited to join the worship life at Grace and is looking forward to meeting all of you! We are glad you are joining us, Jon.
